Lee Dorsey has a great voice and great sense of melody but it's all unfortunately overshadowed here by novelty. 'Do Re Mi' would be a strong track if it wasn't for the kitch tag line that sees it surrendered to the middle American twisting dance halls.

It's pretty easy to picture a record exec hanging over Dorsey's shoulder here telling him that they need something to sell to the kiddlings, and that the line 'Do Re Mi' really 'pops'. Get farked mate, ruins the song.
