The events we write about at Gaslight Records happened in some form or another 50 years ago to the day. Roll along with us and imagine you are back in 1974.

Roy Hamilton presses his lips right up against that silver 57 and croons in a low tone to begin with.

You can almost picture the man's legs moving with more and more energy as this amazing tune builds through the first verse.

The backing singers' then drop in and join a soaring rhythm section. Before finally, Roy steps back slightly from the microphone and delivers an upper range chorus that has the power to remind the world of everything that's truly great about soul, r&b, rock, and gospel music all in one.

Genuine energy, electricity, and elation. That's what it is. The three big E's.
