This track really makes me think of the 1973 film American Graffiti and The Beach Boys. Have to be honest I always thought this was a Beach Boys original, but as it turns out it belongs to The Regents and they do a pretty great job with it.

Aside from this being a surf rock tune about a gal named Barbara, which strikes me as a little strange, it has a great hook and energy. The falsetto counter melody through the choruses really heightens the quality and memorability of the hook.

Everyone sounds a little drained of energy and vocally flat near the end of the song, but by then The Regents have sufficiently made their mark with Barbara Ann.
