The events we write about at Gaslight Records happened in some form or another 50 years ago to the day. Roll along with us and imagine you are back in 1969.

For the sixth instalment of Live at the Gaslight we are pleased to introduce you to the raspy, righteous and downright delightful sound of Scotty Long. Scotty has become an institution of the live music scene in bars across Central Florida, armed with a showmanship and bravado born of the humid, whiskey-soaked haze of such barrooms. It is a real pleasure to have him contribute a piece for us here.

His live music credentials combine seamlessly with a knack for production in this scintillating take on Wanda Jackson’s "Funnel of Love"; a tune originally penned by Charlie McCoy and Kent Westbury for Capitol Records, it first appeared on the B-side of one of Jackson’s top ten country singles "Right or Wrong" (1961).

You can find Scotty's original work here, and be sure to follow him on Facebook.
