Billy Preston has released his fourth studio album titled That's The Way God Planned It. The album is Preston's first release since his recent collaboration with The Beatles on their track "Get Back." Preston was apparently brought in to The Beatles recording sessions by George Harrison in an effort to cool growing tensions in the band.

George Harrison both produced and performed on the album, along with contributions from Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Doris Troy.

The title track to the album was released as a single in June, following the release of "Hey Brother" earlier this year. "Hey Brother" is an alternate version of "Hey Joe" popularised by Jimi Hendrix.

The liner notes to the album state "Billy Preston is the best thing to happen to Apple this year. He’s young and beautiful and kind and he sings and plays like the son of God."
