Howlin' Wolf has a new album out, and apparently he really doesn't like it
Bluesman, Howlin' Wolf has followed Muddy Waters latest move into psychedelic music
April 25th, 1969: 59 year old bluesman Howlin' Wolf has released his latest album, The Howlin' Wolf Album, and he's apparently not too happy with it (as is stated on the album art work above). The album is made up of tracks which have all been previously recorded by Wolf. They were re-recorded for the new album with psychedelic arrangements which Wolf described as "dog shit."
According to guitarist Pete Cosey, during the recording sessions, Howlin' Wolf looked at me and he said "Why don't you take them wah-wahs and all that other shit and go throw it off in the lake – on your way to the barber shop?"
