New album from Townes Van Zandt out today

The Texan country music singer Townes Van Zandt has released his second album, Our Mother The Mountain

April 24th, 1969: 25 year old Texan singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt has released his second album, Our Mother The Mountain. Van Zandt's follow up to last year's For The Sake Of The Song was recorded in January in Nashville and Los Angeles.

Our Mother The Mountain features session musician Charlie McCoy who also played guitar on Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline in January this year.

The lead single from Our Mother The Mountain is "Second Lovers Song" with "Tecumseh Valley" on the B-Side. "Tecumseh Valley" was also released on Van Zandt's last album but apparently unhappy with the result he has re-recorded it.
