The Beatles finish recording 11th studio album in London

August 21st, 1969: The Beatles have finished work on their 11th studio album, due for release on September 26th. The album entitled Abbey Road will be their second release for this year following January's Yellow Submarine.

See the new album track-listing and cover art below. Paul McCartney came up with the cover art with a series of sketches. Photographer Iain Stewart Macmillan captured the photo near EMI Studios on Abbey Road where The Beatles recorded most of the album.
