The Velvet Underground to perform at The Boston Tea Party this month

New York group The Velvet Underground have announced two shows at The Boston Tea Party in Boston, MA on August 11th and 12th.

Earlier this year, the band released their debut album entitled The Velvet Underground & Nico. Recorded in New York last year, the album didn't see full distribution until June due to a legal claim made by actor Eric Emerson. Following its release, Emerson threatened to sue the band for their unauthorised use of his image on the back cover. The album was subsequently removed from shelves until the image could be edited out.

The Velvet Underground will apparently return to the studio this September to record their second album. Bob Dylan's former producer, Tom Wilson is rumored to be involved in the project.
