U.S Music Press coin the term 'Folk Rock'

June 8-10, 1965 - The term 'Folk Rock' was coined by the U.S. Music Press to describe the sound of Los Angeles based group The Byrds*.

'Folk Rock' described records that combined American Folk with British 'Beat Music'.

Aside from The Byrds, early exemplars include The Beatles (circa "I'm A Loser" and "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"), The Animals ("House of The Rising Sun"), and Bob Dylan (see Bringing It All Back Home).
