August 30th, 1969: Bukka White has released his latest album, Memphis Hot Shots. White, (the first cousin of B.B.King), has had a resurgence in his career over the last few years. Following in the footsteps of Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters, he has decided now is the time to put out a record with a full backing band.

The album is a major departure for the 63-year-old, who has recorded only solo albums up until this point.

White's 1940 song "Fixin' to Die" was recorded by Bob Dylan on his 1962 debut album.

Listen to "Aberdeen Mississippi Blues" from Memphis Hot Shots below. "Aberdeen Mississippi Blues" was originally recorded by Bukka White in the late 1930's.

Memphis Hot Shots:

1 Bed Spring Blues

2 Aberdeen, Mississippi Blues

3 Drifting Blues

5 Baby Please Don't Go

6 Give Me An Old, Old Lady
