Watch The Band perform "The Weight" at Woodstock last week

Woodstock locals, The Band performed last Sunday in their adopted hometown

August 26th, 1969: Canadian rock group, The Band had likely the shortest distance to travel to the Woodstock festival last week. The Band, aka Bob Dylan's backing band, have been residents of Woodstock for the past few years, hanging out and writing music in a house known as Big Pink.

Attendees had been hoping that Bob Dylan would show up with his band; however, Dylan jumped on a ship to England the day the Woodstock festival started.

Watch below The Band performing their single from last year "The Weight" on day three of Woodstock.

And here's The Band performing one of their tracks co-written at Big Pink with Bob Dylan, "Tears Of Rage" live at Woodstock.
